“ Great Sermon! ” So relevant to todays issues and immorality - we have a blending of right and wrong, male and female, sin and righteousness- no credit to God - but God is the one allowing it and in the end He still prevails - may this be a warning to believe in the one and only true God.
“ Great Sermon! ” A must hear for everyone. Dr Thomas speaks about the sheep that Jesus knows. Nothing is more important than knowing you are one of Jesus’ sheep.
“ Great Sermon! ” I have enjoyed and benefitted much from Dr Thomas’ messages - may he enjoy his retirement and I thank him for the many years of faithful preaching.
“ Deep Deep Theology ” Francis Turretin in Volume 1 of his Institutes of Elenctic Theology has a helpful discussion/description of what is meant by the statement that “the Son is eternally begotten”
“ Great Sermon! ” Great sermon by a great preacher - thank you Lord for all the preachers in Sermon Audio and for the privilege of hearing your word thru this media.
“ Timing, Responsibility, & Distress! ” Dr Davis gives us three observations about these two stories and he admonishes us to take home lessons from each.
First, let's observe the timing of God's providence. There are no coincidences: God works things in our history to our benefit. (Davis relates a bicycle accident from his youth to illustrate the point!) Give thanks to God for his timing.
Second, we have a responsibility to react rightly to the testimony about God. The king of Israel learned about Yahweh's work through Elisha. Did he respond appropriately? We know of the saving work of Jesus Christ--do we respond appropriately?
Finally, notice the sad distress of God's judgement. Elisha was distressed that God's righteous judgement at the hand of the pagan Hazael would result in the death of many Israelites. Jesus, too, wept at the coming judgement of Jerusalem. Our God does not take joy in the justice He commands--and so we must have a similar posture.
Dr. Davis gives us much to consider about our Creator in these 48 minutes. What a blessing.
“ Great Sermon! ” Everyone who cares about life should read this. We haven’t advanced; we have regressed; allowing or accepting all kinds of unGodly behavior. Living without understanding the providence of God is vanity and dangerous.
