The Difference Kindness Makes
Thoughts And Acts Of Kindness
An overview of the book of Ruth... and the character of Naomi, Ruth and Boaz
I have a thought swirling around in my head tonight, about two people, and I wanted to throw it your way. • It's about a lady named Ruth... and a kind man named Boaz. • Can I recommend 3 simple, but significant, steps I've gleaned from both of their lives? What did they both do? • (1) They did what they could...(2) They used what they had...(3) They did it for the glory of God and the good of others... • Ruth put herself at the feet of her kinsman-redeemer, having trusted her mother-in-law and entrusted herself to him and his care. And he (Boaz) graciously covered her, took responsibility for her and made her his very own. The result... everything in their lives and the lives of so many more (including me) have changed forever. (Ruth 3) • Boaz, who, at a quick glance of him in Ruth, appears to be a very busy, quite successful and extremely important man, took the time to notice, listen and show uncommon kindness to a needy and hungry servant named Ruth. |
