From our Saviour's familiar admonition of the Pharisees, we know there is much more to the 6th commandment than avoiding murder. This sermon continues our examination of God's Word to help us better fulfil our 6th commandment obligations. Today's teaching comes from Colossians 2. Paul reminds us that our completeness is in our Saviour through our dependence and obedience to Him. He warns us against the getting caught up in the philosophy of self denial in order to attain Holiness. We are also instructed to not be over indulgent as well.
As you listen to the message, consider how you can have a balanced life with all God has seen fit to give you. God can and should be glorified in our times of rejoice and trial. The result will be a balanced life and a balanced life is a life that glorifies God.
The only way to know God is to keep the commandments, love the brethren and support life in every way imaginable. There is only one way to bring dignity to the human life and obey the 6th commandment. Obey God's commandments.
