All sin is punished with perfect, unrelenting justice. On the Last Day this perfect justice will be displayed in an open and obvious way to everyone. On that day a distinction will be revealed: some have been forgiven their sins because Jesus Christ has already taken that perfect and unrelenting justice on Himself at the cross. Others, who have not trusted in Christ during this life, will receive the perfect and unrelenting wrath of God for all eternity. This sermon closes the series on the doctrine of sin. It calls believers to endure in this life – because of God's mercy and for His glory. And, it calls unbelievers to turn from sin to Jesus Christ so that they might escape the just punishment of their sin.
