Their hope being hereby deferred makes their heart sick, and their spirit oftentimes to faint; and this fainting is a defect in waiting, for want of perseverance and continuance, which frustrates the end of it. So David, Ps. 27:13, "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord;" — "Had I not received 'supportment by faith, I had fainted."
