We all have a sense of fairness, that is, people should get what they deserve. If they work one hour they should be paid for one-hour work, not given a full-days pay. If we receive from another something we do not deserve, we call this 'GRACE'. Our God is a gracious God who deals with us graciously! When we do not deserve it, God offers to us His help in meeting pressing human needs. We need God's help in delivering us from our sins. Before God's help arrived, we were spiritually dead, under satanic and worldly domination, depraved, and damned! We were in desperate straits! But God graciously offers deliverance. Salvation is solely by God's grace. Not a 'co-pay' plan whereby we work as hard as we can and then God pays the rest, but our salvation from sin is totally a gift from God which we receive by trusting Him for it. We need God's help in saving us. We also need God's help during times of suffering. It is then we learn that God's gracious help is sufficient. We also need God's grace to serve Him! We are what we are by God's grace alone! Now in order to get God's help, we must first be willing to humble ourselves, recognizing our inability to meet our needs, and then to simply ask Him for help! Sometimes God answers directly;other times He works through others. He ministers His grace through us! And for us who have accepted God's grace, it indeed is simply AMAZING!!
