While a critical, judgmental spirit is forbidden by Christ ("Judge not that ye be not judged"), He encouages believers to look at those who profess to be saved and judge their profession by how they live their lives. They are to examine, not only their own, but the lives of all who call themselves Christian and judge by the fruit they produce whether or not they are who and what they claim to be.
If spritiual fruit is found, then that means there is a saving relationship to Jesus Christ. One thing is certain, any and every Christian will produce fruit.
The next message will deal with the substance and source of fruitful Christian living.
