As human beings, He did not create us to be the victims of adverse weather, sickness, attacks from hostile enemies, deception, enslavement to our passions and lusts. He created us to be subject to Him and to have dominion over everything else. The passage we come to today sets Jesus before us as the one who restores us to that place.
