Dearly beloved congregation of our Lord Jesus Christ, we saw last time how, thanks to the name of Jesus and His healing power expressed through Peter and John, the lame man leapt up and through the gate right into the temple complex — thus showing that Jesus' power transcends the old temple system and its boundaries. Once again, Peter stands up to explain what has happened. But this time, he doesn't get to finish. The second sermon in Acts is interrupted by the preacher getting arrested. Folks, this is normal. We'll talk more about that in a few weeks. But for right now, I want us to see that in the first half of Peter's explanatory sermon, we learn to give the glory to God by repenting and believing in the name of Jesus.
