Sennacherib was just a tool of Satan who wanted to reverse the gracious reformation that God had brought to pass under the godly leadership of Hezekiah. The devil had lost ground in Judah, and he wasn't going to take that lying down. This event in Judah's history is but a microcosm of what takes place whenever a child of God or a church begins to seek the Lord in earnest.
