Jesus was hung on a Roman cross by 9 in the morning. After his beatings and other abuses he was nailed to the tree. Once the shock was reduced and he could see and hear those around him he spoke his first two sayings. Seeing the soldiers who had put him on the cross and who were mocking him he prayed to the Father. Father forgive them because they don't know what they are doing. Later one of the criminals who were being executed beside him addressed Jesus in a sovereignly bestowed faith after he became aware of his own evil. Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom. To him Jesus spoke the words of salvation-I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.
