In our study of Malachi 1, we are listening to a dialogue between the LORD of hosts, Israel's God, and the people of God who were restored to the Promised Land after the Exile to Babylon. In this passage, our LORD turn from their doubting His love to their treatment of Him and His worship. The ultimate issue of this paragraph is the statement God made in verse 6. "'A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, where is My reverence? Says the LORD of hosts." In short, how do we treat God? We will try to follow this conversation between Yahweh of hosts and the rebellious people of God.
