Text: Philippians 1:12-18 | Speaker: Levi Bakerink | Description: Paul writes to the Philippians to make sure they know that his imprisonment has actually served to advance the gospel. Unbeknownst to Paul's enemies and the Roman authorities, God has used his prison sentence to bring about the proclamation of Christ. In fact, even the hypocritical preaching of Paul's enemies is a matter of rejoicing for Paul, because in all these things, Christ is proclaimed. For these reasons, he invites the Philippians to rejoice along with him. Today, we also should rejoice in the fact that the gospel message does not need our help, because God's Word is not bound (2 Tim. 2:9) and will go forth and accomplish all that God pleases (Isa. 55:11).
