Artistic depictions of Jesus will fail to convey that which only the Spirit can reveal: "the glory of God in the face of Christ." In the 1st sermon, we asked "Where is the glory of God seen?" In this, the 2nd of 2 messages, we ask "Why is the glory of God seen?" - beacuse Jesus is "the image of God"; then "How is the glory of God seen?" - by the illuminating work of the Spirit who reveals Jesus in the Word; and "Who is to display the glory of God?" - individual Christans & local churches as indwelt by the Spirit of Christ. Rather than showing our neighors Gibson's Jesus projected on a movie screen, we would do better to show them the Biblical Jesus by the proclamation of the gospel with lives of godly integrity. Men are to see "the face of Christ" in the lives of true Christians who minister the gospel by the power of the Spirit.
