This third message on "respect for authority" helps us to focus on respect for God Himself. We are taught by Solomon that one's PRIORITY in honoring God involves our resources - both the capital that is in the bank and the revenue that comes in each day. The results of honoring God will include barns that are filled with grain and vats that are bursting with grape juice(God's blesings). In like manner we are taught by Paul two PRINCIPLES that should govern each one's giving: Principle #1 is that "you reap what you sow". Only indulging in one's self by being stingy with your resources will reap a very limited harvest. But Principle #2 teaches that "God loves a cheerful giver". Purposely deciding to give from the heart, never grudgingly (with regret) or under compulsion (because you have to). Always give with great delight, because God is sacrificially devoted to those believers who share their resources joyfully
