The Broad Way leads to Destruction and the Narrow Way leads to life. According to Jesus the Broad Way is Taken by many and according to Jesus the Narrow way is taken by few. So if you think about this world and our lives it is like there is two roads. A really wide road and a tiny lane way and all of humanity is on one of those two roads. Now when you read the rest of the passage in Matt 7 we become aware that people can have a false faith and people can have a true faith. The people that have a false faith are people that hear God's message and yet do not obey God's message and they bring forth bad fruit. The people that have a true faith are people that hear God's Word and they obey God's Word and they bring forth good fruit.
Now something that's not talked about much in today's Church is also the subject of False Prophets as seen here in Matthew 7. Just as there are true believers and there are false believers there are also true prophets and there are false prophets. Matt 7:15 KJV Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. True Prophets bring forth good fruit and False Prophets bring forth bad fruit. Can I ask you are you on the narrow way that leads to life or are you on the broad way that leads to death and destruction?
