The first time I really looked at Hebrews 2:10 was in a discussion with a cultist, someone who denied the deity of Jesus Christ. “For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the [author] captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” (Hebrews 2:10). My verbal adversary pointed to this verse without mentioning the context and said, “If Jesus is God and already perfect, why did the Father have to make Him perfect through suffering?” This question is the focus of our study today.
