For Mother’s Day I have chosen a text which tells about Abagail who was a remarkable woman and a mother in Israel. She is one of my favorite biblical characters. What we know about her doesn’t exactly fit the mold of the quiet passive lady. She boldly takes initiative to rescue her own family and doing so also saves David from acting rashly and vengefully.
Before listening to this sermon please read 1 Samuel 25. Do you think that Abigail was justified to go behind her husband’s back and against his wishes? How and when can godly women today follow her example?
